Veneers are an extremely thin piece of porcelain that is fitted on the outer surface of your tooth for a number of different purposes from improving the appearance of stained or crooked teeth to strengthening them and hiding cracks. They require very little prior preparation and can be completed in just two visits to the practice.
Your dentist will first assess your teeth and discuss your requirements to determine if veneers are right for you. Then, a small layer of your existing tooth’s enamel is shaved off to create a better bonding surface for the veneers. An imprint of the teeth receiving veneers is taken and then sent off to one of our trusted laboratories so they can create a mould for your new veneers.
When you return to the practice, your new veneers will be fitted and, if they are satisfactory, your dentist will use a special adhesive to bond them into place. The final result should last for a very long time.
